Sunny afternoon, Friday 24th May 2024
I had forgotten Milo had a day off school, I had thought I would drop him off and then work and pick him up at 3. Val kindly offered to take Milo to lunch so I could do my meetings online, after I finished the meetings I eagerly dashed over to Squires and found Milo and Val in the café. Milo was so happy and having such a great time, shouting about his "best cake ever" and about how the 3 of us could go to the Squires playground now.
At the playground I chased Milo around playing 'catch the prisoner' and he would jump on Val's lap as the 'safe' zone. The he dragged Val and I to the garden where we had races on the lawn, Val was running along with us, Milo always winning -of course. Then very tired (all three of us) Val drove us back to Oak Tree Road. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with fun and love.
Thank you Val for all the times you were there for me when I looked after Milo. He adored you and I can see how much he loved you when I think of that day. Can't believe you are gone now so suddenly, I thought we'd have many more of those afternoons.
